122/365... A Penny Saved Is A Penny Earned joy

We have been teaching our almost 5-year old about money.

He has done little jobs around the house to fill his piggy bank. He decided that he was going to buy a new train with his earnings.

It took a few weeks to fill his piggy bank but his hard work paid off. Today, we took him to Toys R Us so he could buy his train. With a baggie of coins in hand, he practically skipped into the store. He carefully chose the train that he wanted and proudly took it to the cashier. He even shared with the cashier that he did jobs to earn that money for his new train. With a new train in one hand and the baggie with his leftover money in the other hand, he walked with pride out of the store.

He played with that train for over 2 hours when we got home.

He is going to do little jobs around the house once again. He is super excited about taking his earned money to the bank to put in his savings account.

A penny saved is a penny earned joy.

So fun! We haven't started with an allowance or anything like that yet, but I know my son would definitely pick out a train with his money as well!
