281/365... Day 1 in the Northwoods of Wisconsin joy

Our first day in northern Wisconsin was truly amazing. The weather was perfect. The trees were all shades of yellow and red. The lake was crystal clear. The leaves made the perfect crunch sound as you walked through them. The air smelled like leaves and campfire. It was like heaven on Earth.

I was able to start the day with a little one on one time with the baby of them all. He loved to look at the different stones and through them in the water. He belly laughed every time the rocks made a splash. He probably would have been able to through a lot more rocks if his mother would have put pants on him that fit.

After a picnic lunch, we went to Bond Falls. It was the first waterfall that my children have seen. I hope we will enjoy many more in the future.

He loved climbing on the rocks and putting his hands in the water. He also loved making all of the adults nervous.

It takes your breath away, doesn't it?

When we returned from the falls, we spent the afternoon playing in the leaves.

I forgot to mention that this lake is just steps away from our friends' cottage. Seriously, heaven on earth.

A golden sunset and a bonfire was the perfect way to end our first day in the Northwoods.

Have I mentioned that it was heavenly?
